Campaign Suicide
An innocent little post-New Years party at Samir's turns wild! WILD, I say! With a nod to Primary season, the theme was "Campaign Suicide". Neckties abounded, the stars and stripes flew, and there was enough debauchery to make Washington proud. (Jan 11, 2008)
Spain! (or, New Years abroad)
Best New Years ever! No making out with girls, no funerals, no alcohol poisoning; an all around good time. Adam, Jeff, Greg, and I embarked on a five day trip to Spain (my first time out of the country (aside from Canada (which isn’t really out of the country))) visiting Madrid and Barcelona for a little turn o’ the year fun. There was lots of great food, wine, and local beer; fireworks at midnight; perhaps some late night making out with... whatever his name was; walking tours and museums in Madrid; and of course the brief visit to the Mediterranean town of Barcelona. Austin City Limits Festival, 2007. Holy crap! was it a good time. In years past it was just myself and Samir, but this time we had Scott, Sarah, Greg, and Jeff. Nearly everybody remained conscious nearly the whole time! My camera failed to walk itself to the charger for Saturday, buy I managed to snap pics on Friday and Sunday. We saw a fair number of bands, tons of revelers, a nearly endless supply of hot shirtless men, and, of course, Leslie. The overall favorites were: The Decemberists (holy fuck yeah!), LCD Soundsystem, Andrew Bird, Björk, Arctic Monkeys, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Spoon, and Bloc Party. (September 14-16, 2007)

Mountain Farewell
My mom and all my sibs (except for Jeni) got together to take my step-father's ashes up into the mountains. Quick weekend with tons of driving, but a lot of beautiful scenery. (May 18-20, 2007)
