About These Links

  • Q. Hey, what the hell is with all of these links?
    A. I get that a lot. Allow me to explain. As a professional IT worker, I manage to spend a lot of time at a lot of different computers, which can play hell with trying to manage bookmarks. Yes, there are various Firefox extensions and whatnot, but this is my approach. One Website, I always know where it is, and it works anywhere from any browser.
  • Q. But why the hell should I care?
    A. I think you missed the point. These are here for my convenience. I assume you don't care. You shouldn't care. It's not about you; it's all about me.
  • Q. Can I use your links for myself?
    A. Umm, yes, I suppose that's okay.
  • Q. What does the login link do? Can I login?
    A. It lets me login. And no, you can't. Because then you would be me, and only I am me. Which is a real shame, because the interface for adding and maintaining links is actually reasonably slick. It's too bad that you will never see it. Because you are not me.
  • Q. Is it true that some of the Javascript effects on this site were shamelessly stolen from others?
    A. Indeed. I think it was all free stuff though. The big pieces are PHP and MySQL, but the pretty stuff comes from Dojo Toolkit, the Prototype Javascript Framework, and the ever-fabulous Control.Modal.
